Heavy Industry Energy Demand

This report provides long-term projections of energy demand for
six heavy industrial sectors in New Zealand: steel, aluminium, petrochemicals,
oil refining, forest products and dairy.
These projections, along with
their assumptions and analysis, are used as an input into the Ministry of Economic Development's modelling of
energy supply and demand (Energy Outlook).
Hale & Twomey worked with the economics consultancy Covec, and Exergi Consulting to
provide industry specific models of energy use. Hale & Twomey provided modelling and analysis for the petrochemicals and oil refining sectors.
