Enabling Biofuels: Biofuels Supply Options
- Client: Ministry of Transport
- Published: March 2006
This report considers the supply of biofuels to the New Zealand fuels market, and the supply of feedstock for manufacture of biofuels in New Zealand.
The report summarises potential sources for ethanol and biodiesel and examines
the options that are most likely to be feasible and economic over 2008-2012.
Hale & Twomey consider availability of biofuels from the processing of
currently available domestic feedstocks and waste materials, and for biofuels
produced from purpose grown crops. Each source is summarised by availability,
current market and their potential for biofuels manufacture. The international
availability of biofuels for potential supply to the New Zealand market is also
assessed.
